Drama

Studying drama helps students to develop important skills such as collaboration, analysis, communication and evaluation. These are skills that they need to use for the rest of their lives, in higher education and in work.

Drama at Whitstone also develops student’s performance and presentation skills. This is explicitly taught through skills based lessons in all years and home learning tasks which encourage research and are assessed through presentation to the class.

As well as performance, the Drama curriculum gives students the opportunity to explore aspects of cultural changes within our society as well as the history and changing styles of performance.

Those students who take Drama as an option will continue to build on their skills in expressing themselves and become more assured performers as well as having a wider understanding of theatrical roles outside of the actor and director.
