Being a SEND parent can be really hard. We appreciate that and want to support you. Sometimes though, more support is needed than just in school and there are lots of opportunities for support available to parents of SEND children and young adults.
In Somerset, the main areas of support come from:
- SENDIAS
- Somerset Parent and Carer Forum
- Wise Up Workshops
Wise Up Workshops
Being a parent carer of a child or young person with additional needs can bring extra situations which are challenging to know how to handle. The idea behind the project is to empower parent carers through Workshops for Information, Support and Education. All the workshops will be delivered or co-delivered by someone with lived experience of being a parent carer.
