Uniform and Equipment

Our aim at Whitstone is to ensure that we embed our values on Ambition, Respect and Excellence in everything we do. We want to ensure that we celebrate and validate the choice to arrive to school on time, well prepared for the learning of the day, and in the correct uniform. By doing this, we believe we are laying the foundations of a character that will help students secure ambitious futures for themselves after school. In order to achieve this:

  • Students need to be on site at 8.30 am. Gates close at 8.35 am. Tutor time begins, with students in the room by 8.40 am.
  • Uniform and equipment will be checked by all tutors each morning at 8.40 am. If a student has the wrong uniform or the wrong equipment, a demerit will be issued by a tutor, and then students will be allowed to go and purchase missing equipment. A breaktime equipment detention will be set.
  • We don’t want students to earn demerits or detentions, so an equipment shop will be open before school and at break & lunch if students need to buy any equipment. Equipment can be purchased using EPraise points or ordered via school payment systems.
  • Phones will also be safely stored in pouches during tutor period – if a student has forgotten a pouch, a spare can be borrowed before school, or if identified by a teacher to be missing, a demerit will be issued.
