World Book Week!

WORLD BOOK WEEK: Last week we embraced everything to do with reading and books. On Monday, students look part in a Create a Spud Book Character competition (with students making book characters out of potatoes!). On Tuesday, Aspire groups had to guess the member of staff from a photo of their book shelf (or ‘shelfie!’). On Wednesday, there was a chance to test their book knowledge as part of an inter-Aspire quiz and on Friday there was a Taskmaster-like challenge in which they had to write a poem in 200 seconds with a given starting line, as well as staff and students being invited to dress up as their favourite book character for the day.

World Book Day is an event that happens internationally with the focus being on reading for pleasure and literacy.
