Community Development

Whitstone School is proud to serve the community of Shepton Mallet and the surrounding villages. We have strong links with the local community and our students have been involved in a number of projects over the years. These have included:

  • Collett Park Day - supporting the school Ghana link and Eco Club

  • Artists in school

  • Gymnastics Centre of Excellence

  • Somerset Beekeepers

  • Shepton Mallet Youth Football

  • Community Sports Day

We are always keen to develop new links and would welcome approaches from community groups who would like to work with us and our students.

Over the past nine months, we have also worked closely with individuals and organisations within the local area to support the covid-19 relief effort. This has involved distributing safety resources and PPE, raising money for vulnerable individuals and charity groups and sharing expertise where possible.

We are proud of our local community and regularly involve local residents in school life.
