Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
Our students thrive in a friendly, purposeful environment, which helps them develop into well-rounded, mature young people. At all stages they are supported and guided to ensure they are more than ready to face the challenges of adult life.
As a relatively small secondary school, all of our teachers and our support staff know our students really well and ensure there is a constant focus on the needs of each individual.
Student Reception
If ever a student is in need of friendly or sympathetic advice, they have access to their own Student Reception desk. This is where they can ask for help with anything from ailments and first aid to lost property, and can contact home for reasons such as arranging transport after school or bringing in forgotten homework, pe kit or cooking ingredients!
If a student has a problem of any kind that isn’t related to their learning, Student Reception is their first port of call. In the unlikely event that the Student Receptionist cannot help, she will always find out who can, and point the student in the right direction.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are not allowed to be used at Whitstone School. Students are encouraged to leave theirs at home, or leave them at Reception at the beginning of each day, for collections after lessons. Should a student need to call home during the school day, they may do so at Student Reception. If a parent needs to get an urgent message to their child during the school day, they should call our Main Reception 01749 345555.
Home - School Communications
We pride ourselves on our excellent communication with parents, forming a partnership which begins before children join us in Year 7 and lasts until after they have left us as young adults. If you have any concerns about your child during their time at Whitstone School, whether related to their learning or their personal circumstances, please let us know in order that we can help to support them in any way we can: 01749 345555.
