EPraise Points and Rewards
EPraise is the online system that we use at Whitstone School to encourage and reward good behaviour for learning.
Students are awarded EPraise points for good behaviour, and deducted points for any unwanted behaviours. Awards can be given by any member of staff, not only teachers, and can be given for any positive behaviour (including kindness, readiness to learn, honesty, perseverance, high uniform standards, positive attitude, as well as, of course, exceptional work). This encourages respect and positive interactions with all staff members and students, not only in the classroom but in all areas of school.
Students are very keen to gain EPraise points, because they can be exchanged for rewards - from stationery to canteen credit!
EPraise: Easy and Timely Communication
EPraise is also a vital tool for communication between Whitstone School, parents and students.
Through the EPraise system, we can electronically communicate important information with parents, reducing paper waste (and the possibility of letters being lost in transit!). Information is sent via EPraise directly to an email address provided by the parent. With most people now having email access via mobile phones, this is a very effective way of keeping in touch. We can also send information directly to students’ school email addresses, meaning year groups, Aspire Groups or the whole school can receive clear, accurate and consistent information.
The communication tool works both ways, with both students and parents being able to send messages directly to relevant teachers or members of staff, making communication between school and home much more effective and continuous, and fostering a close home/school relationship for the benefit of our students.
