Esafety

Here at Whitstone School, we acknowledge the wealth of information provided by the internet that can benefit our students’ education.  We also appreciate the ease of communication with parents and students, and the reporting of important information that online systems provide.

However, we also realise that the internet could potentially provide risks to our students and staff, and therefore operate a strict esafety policy in order to keep everyone safe.  The main ways we keep everyone safe online are:

  • Students are not allowed to use their mobile phones during school time

  • All internet systems used in school are filtered for suitability of content and age appropriateness

  • We comply with all relevant data protection law and guidance

  • We have a zero tolerance approach to bullying and deal with any instances swiftly and effectively

  • All staff are required to undertake training and sign an ‘Acceptable ICT Usage Policy’

  • All students are required to read and sign an ‘Acceptable ICT Usage Policy’ as part of our annual data collection process

  • eSafety is discussed in IT lessons and discussed in assemblies
