Transition from Primary School

Whitstone School prides itself on being an inclusive and welcoming school – right from the very beginning of a student’s time with us.

The transition from Primary School to Secondary School can be daunting for both children and their parents. Whitstone School is committed to ensuring this transition is as smooth and stress-free as possible. 

To help the students feel comfortable in the Whitstone School environment, we offer familiarisation visits in years 5 and 6 - workshops, science mornings, master classes – so our teachers and students are known by primary aged pupils in the local area long before they start at Whitstone School.  Our open evening each September gives students and carers a real insight into the vision, ethos, teaching and facilities the school offers.

Welcome to Year 7 Booklet

Each year we provide all of our new Year 7s with this booklet prior to their arrival – these are provided as printed copies via the primary schools for the pupils and their families to keep and refer to in the lead up to the new school year:
