COVID-19

Keeping Our Students Safe
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are doing everything we possibly can to make the school as safe as it can be for all students, staff and visitors, including:

  • We are operating a one way system of travel throughout the school buildings to avoid face to face meeting.

  • Hand sanitiser is to be used by all students, staff and visitors on entry to the buildings and individual classrooms.

  • The number of visitors to the building is being kept minimum, and no-one should be on the school site without a prior appointment.

  • Additional cleaning of classrooms and communal areas regularly throughout the school day.

Lateral Flow Testing

Staff and students are currently being asked to self-test twice a week using Lateral Flow tests that we provide at school. If your child needs any more, they can ask at Student Reception. The tests are simple to use, and now they only require nasal swabs. Please ensure you report the results of the lateral flow tests with the Government portal and through our school Google Form:

If the lateral flow test comes up positive your child must self-isolate and you will need to book a PCR test to confirm the result. The rest of the household does not need to self-isolate as long as you are all double-vaccinated or under 18 years of age. Parents can obtain lateral flow tests for themselves from https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests. All the guidance is online on the NHS website from the link on the red banner above.

Home Learning During Lockdown Periods
During times of lock down, all lessons will be provided online. Students should follow their usual timetable and access classes via Google Meet, with work being provided and submitted via Google Classroom. You can find information about how to access and use these on our Home Learning page.

If your child is self-isolating, but is well enough to work, links and information are available from our Remote Learning page.

The way we deliver home learning during lock down periods is explained in our document:
